Peter Kelley secures defense verdict for Ophthalmologist

Attorney Peter Kelley obtained a defense verdict in favor of an Ophthalmologist after a seven day trial in Middlesex Superior Court. The plaintiff alleged that the defendant physician was negligent in his examinations and failed to detect retinal breaks that resulted in a macula-off retinal detachment.

The plaintiff further claimed that, despite repair of the detachment, he had permanent double-vision with associated loss of function and ability to perform daily activities.

The patients wife asserted a claim for loss of consortium.
