John Bruce successfully defends pain management physician

Attorney John Bruce obtained a dismissal of all claims against a deceased, internal medicine physician accused of prescribing excessive and inappropriate amounts of narcotic medication to a patient. The plaintiff alleged that the defendant, who had passed away years before being named as a party, was disciplined by the Board of Registration in Medicine, including revocation of his license, in part as a result of the treatment of the plaintiff. After having any and all disciplinary sanctions excluded from evidence, the defendant pain management physician was dismissed from the case prior to opening statements.
